National Parks quilts

The National Parks Centennial Quilts Project - 177 quilts about the flora, fauna, and landscapes of the National Parks - was headed by Donna DeSoto. Such a fun opportunity, so I contributed two! Each quilt in the project is a landscape, flora, or fauna from a U.S. National Park.

Moon quilts

These three quilts were made for the “Fly Me to the Moon” art quilt project. Its goal is to celebrate the upcoming anniversary of the first Apollo moon landing, and all things lunar. I’ve loved the night sky since I was about 8 years old, and got a telescope when I was around 12. So one quilt wasn’t enough - I made three!

Hydro-eclectic Power

Commissioned by City of Rockville, Maryland for its Swim and Fitness Center The room had major acoustical problems, which led the City to specifically seek textile art for the space. I mitigated the problem through the use of painted acoustical baffles and heavily-textured (including pleats) fabric wall art. Graphic design and placement in the room incorporates an architectural wave element present in the lobby and hallway (pictured below), and inspired by aerial photography of Maryland.
