Inspired by a group challenge on the color red.
The surface is made of stitched threads in the shape of feathers. There is also a bit of “sliver” thread extending vertically at the center of the red.
Kilauea, on the big island of Hawaii, was in the news at the time, making me think of glowing lava flowing down the slopes. Pele is the Hawaiian goddess of volcanoes. The Hawaiians were known for their capes made of feathers.
